William T. and Ann H. Scott papers, 1954-1993.

This collection reflects the life of two people committed to their professional careers and their spiritual convictions. Ann's professional papers document her struggles and development as a writer; William's papers reflect the growth of his interest from pure physics to the philosophy of science. Their joint papers illustrate family relationships, friendships, personal spiritual reflections, service to the Society of Friends and to peaceful social change. Also included are letters from Agnes and Roderick Scott and Carl and Dorothy Scott. Collection topics include the modern peace movement, conscientious objection to wars and nuclear weapons, civil liberties, race relations, capital punishment, domestic violence, and the American Friends Service Committee activities, with an emphasis on Nevada organizations and actions.

William Taussig Scott (1916-1999) and his wife, Ann Herbert Scott lived in Reno, Nevada, between 1961-1995. Ann Herbert Scott was born November 19, 1926, in Germantown, PA. She became an editor, writer, and lecturer.
